The NBA All Star Game, which kicks off this week, is one of the biggest sporting events of the year, and the NBA will be broadcasting it live on ESPN3 this year.
ESPN3 is a new streaming service that is powered by the NBA’s digital rights deal with DirecTV, but it has had mixed reception in the past.
The NBA has had trouble reaching fans, with viewership of the game in the NBA Network’s prime times being significantly lower than other live events.
In 2015, the league had an audience of just over 40 million, according to the Nielsen company.
In 2016, it was slightly higher, with the league’s total audience averaging over 39 million viewers.
The viewership on TNT averaged just over 10 million viewers, with a total viewership of just under 19 million.
That’s about half the viewership on the ESPN3 broadcast.
ESPN’s live broadcast of the All-star game on TNT will begin at 10 p.m.
ET on Monday.
